French extreme death-metal/grindcore band Benighted are back with yet another incredibly visceral and brutal record
in a rather advanced stage of their career. Necrobreed is a savage and powerful album that contains pretty much
everything one might want out of a record of such nature: extremely heavy down-tuned guitar riffs,
blasting drum-beats played at constantly high-speed rhythms, over-the-top vocal performances
and some really nasty and morbid themes running throughout the album's tracklisting.
The songs on the first half of the album are truly amazing, and even though it could do better with a shorter,
even more explosive runtime, the album is definitely one of the better metal releases so far.
This band is about rattling the calcium right off your fucking teeth.
Vocals are absolutely top notch. the screams, yells, howls, pig squeals. Fuck, Julien Truchan and Pierre Arnoux are fucking beasts. The guitars sound nice and thick and clear, as do the drums. The bass is also nicely in the mix, maintaining the foundation for this madness.
In short, it sounds like the end of the fucking world. This shit is fucking immense.
This amazing VHR re-issue is Definitely a must in your collection.
After their first release "The Codex Necro," Anaal Nathrakh chose a new path with "Domine Non Es Dignus."
Grindcore influences were added to the raw approach of Black Metal, creating a furious and annihilating piece of work.
Grindcore is not the only influence though, they have taken inspiration from more genres than that.
There are clean vocals every once in a while, guttural vocals when they're needed and the melodic riffing provides a fresh bit of air. And what is there, when none of the previously new influences mentioned are present? Crushing, ripping, skin-tearing black grind. Hell yeah. "Domine Non Es Dignus" starts off with a wave of noise accompanied by the sound of someone puking, then "The Oblivion Gene" kicks in.
Blasting beats, ripping riffs and violent vocals, everything you search for is present here.
Near the end of the song a surprising melodic solo pops up and disappears just as fast as it came.
This happens more often and also a change of vocal style (guttural or clean) can be found in a couple of songs.
Some may not like it, but I see this as a nice addition and also a way of keeping the songs apart, as they can sound a bit the same at some points. The intro of the next song is pretty characterizing for what Anaal Nathrakh lyrical themes are about.
A man speaks one single sentence, namely: If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever. This is their combination of misanthropy and a nihilistic message with a hint of humor and sarcasm.
Something that also should be said about this album is the great production.
The sound is very cold and mechanic which suits this militant form of music very well.
Especially the programmed drums sound inhuman and like pounding artillery & the guitars shred and sound like razors, they are all grinding, demolishing and relentless tracks
YES, FINALLY, after almost 10 years 'Domine Non Es Dignus' is back available with this mighty re-issue on VHR!!!

Legendary death metal juggernaut HATE ETERNAL, the brainchild of extreme metal luminary Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse/Morbid Angel) have been dominating the death metal world with crushingly heavy music that would give any serious head-banger neck problems.
'Infernus' is they’re unleashing album number six and the intensity that they’re so well known for is there from start to finish.
Hate Eternal have created a record with a very compelling and intriguing energy to it, dynamic and expanded yet aggressively rooted in the tradition of the band.
As the first explosion of blastbeats and churning, hellish riffs kicks in at the start of Locust Swarm, it’s more than apparent that Erik Rutan’s reliably overpowering crew are in no mood to compromise on their refined vision of high-velocity brutality.

Solos, fast riffs, technical drumming, hellish roars, thunderous choruses and catchy song structure that gets you
grooving to the extreme sound.
It remains easy to see why Hate Eternal were once dubbed ‘extreme death metal’!
f you like bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, Morbid Angel and Deicide then you’ll love this.

For almost a decade Canadian duo Deformatory have been creating no frills Death Metal and with three albums to their name, in 2013 debut “In The Wake of Pestilence”, it’s savage 2016 follow-up “Malediction” and critically acclaimed 2021 masterpiece “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” with which they have a reputation to uphold.
The chaos begins with “Plagueworm“, the restless and relentless pounding from drummer Neil Grandy paving the way for the way for razor sharp riffs and demonic vocals of Charlie Leduc like a bombing run preparing the ground for troops of doom to move into enemy territory. Grandy is metronomic with his blasting, “Corpseborn” finds Leduc with his caustic vocal performance but lighting the place up with an incendiary solo to accompany the riffs that border on the technical side of Death Metal that you might find with bands like Vitriol.
The riffs hook you in instantly like an unstoppable force commanding you to headbang while at the same time pushing the boundaries of what you might consider to be modern Extreme Metal, the eerie atmosphere lurking beneath the surface throughout the record being purposefully unsettling. “Sunrot” hits like a battering ram after a haunting introduction, reminiscent of earlier works from the likes of Cryptopsy in the way the riffs play out with an almost schizophrenic frenetic energy, decorating the walls in blood as it goes. There is simply no escaping the shroud of darkness that cloaks the harbinger with this ferocious slab of Death Metal, the final piece of the puzzle being “Dustcult“
Harbinger is simply a fantastic, magnificient 4 tracks MLP of Excellent brutal & technical death metal in vein of Nile, Hate Eternal, Angelcorpse.

Paraphilia is an American death metal band hailing from the pacific northwest (Portland, Oregon)
This cellar dwelling duo debuted their nasty brand of guttural destruction in the form of 2021’s EP Primordium of Sinister Butchery. A frenzied titanic sized sixteen minute beatdown.
So here we are now 2023, brings us their 'super' debut full length "The Memory of Death Given Form".
This record is already creating some major ruckus in death metals underground circle.
Comprised solely of SP (vocals/guitars/bass/programming) and KRP (vocals/lyrics), Paraphilia’s brand of brutal & technical death metal is of the thick and chunky variety. Foot stomping groove mixed with gut punching brutality.
This unmerciful bastard child snorts, snarls, growls, and lurks about waiting to hammer your bones into dust.
The song structures are complex enough to impress, but also memorable and downright unforgiving in the headbanging department.
With a touch of the old school, some intricate guitar dissonance, masterfully written songs, and teeth loosening heaviness,
"The Memory of Death Given Form" will delight and destroy even the hardened of death metal elites.
It contains 7 massive tracks (with a Bloodbath cover) chock-full of sophisticated dense riffs and relentless drum pummelling that’s nothing short of being an aural sledgehammer, the album kicks off with a crushing track that takes no prisoners.
Technically proficient but insanely groovy "Memory of Death Given Form" is a thick beast of jarring tempos and vomit inducing guitar savagery.
Harsh, drawn out gutturals over rhythmic guitar mayhem is enough to make anyone feel like they could run straight through a brick wall. Unadulterated death metal ferocity.
To put it bluntly, this is DAMN fucking GOOD, and you would be hard-pressed to find any better death metal this year.
Sure for fans of: Bloodbath, Hate Eternal, Suffocation, Devourment & similar.
Available on a delicious super marble 180gr. vinyl, this version (yellow/black) is limited at 100 copies.

With Carcharodon fun is guaranteed! Even just the title of this fourth album by these Italian metal-maniacs is frankly brilliant. We find ourselves in front of a mixture of genres ranging from southern metal to grindcore, with gut-twisting stoner-doom braking. The roots lie in well-known terrains such as Crowbar, Pantera and Entombed, with a good dose of 80s speed metal.
The album is aggressive, raw, solid, the content is there and it is heavy as a boulder. Mountain moving riffs, bluesy roots, whiskey bottles here and there, and so much more! An album that does not tire even for a second, where in addition to a good performance by the group, an iconoclastic spirit stands out which does not look so much at taking itself too seriously as at raising the bar of an extremism of its own, regardless of the corpses scattered on the pavement after the passage of the megalodon! The cover is created by the digital collage artist Riccardo Bettazzoni.
Don't miss if you're into Entombed, Crowbar, Exciter, Pantera, Carnivore and Black Cobra metal riffs!!!
...and YES! another gorgeous Vacation House Recordings Bottle Green/Black Marble limited edition LP for your vinyl collection!
